Jardin Prive SAL Completed!

This morning I have completed my 1st project of 2010.  This stocking was a freebie provided by The Thread Basket and Jardin Prive. I used Gentle Arts Overdyed Threads and Christmas Green Joblean. I particularly like the pink, which is Clover by Gentle Arts.  It was an easy stitch now I just need to decide how to finish it! No pressure as there is still time before the holidays are upon us!
I want to thank everyone who has left me such nice comments and stopped by to visit the blog! It is amazing to  me that so many of us all across the Earth can share the passion of needlework! I always look forward to checking my blog in the morning to see who has taken a peek! Thank you Venezuela, Australia, Canada, Russia, The Neatherlands, Wales, Hungary, Malta, Budapest and of course the States!

TUSAL (totally useless SAL) & my excuses

So today I am posting a picture of my TUSAL work. You can find a link under my favorite blogs...aka Dragon My Needle. A new picture of my "leftovers" will be posted close to/ just after each new moon. In January's case that was the 16th, so I am a little behind. As you can tell, I don't stitch as much as I want. So instead of posting a boring jar....I posted a pic with a few reasons why it is so empty! This would include my 2 rug-rats and the book I am currently reading!

Dragonfly in Amber is the 2nd book in the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. It is a long one, close to 950 pages, but I am enjoying it and looking forward to book 3 very soon! Give her a try if you like fantasy/ sci-fi/ history combos! Until next post.....

Short Saturday Morn

Saturdays, most peoples favorite day of the week...myself included. Today we are seeing the sun poke her head out of the clouds for the 1st time in several days. I have a trip planned to see my mother in law, a 2 hour ride ( to Fredericksburg, Texas) in the car. This is dedicated stitching time for me as my husband drives. I never get as much accomplished as I would like as it does make me a little dizzy from time to time. Anyone else with this problem? So no picture to post, but I thought I would post a link to a fun Stitcher's Name Generator...You can call me: The Countess of Charms & Buttons!

Till Next Time, enjoy your Saturday!

Frigid Temps should increase productivity?

So we are feeling the arctic blast in Austin as well. Friday we had a low of 18* F, this morning it is beginning to warm up....27* F.  This cold weather is unheard of in our part of Texas. I'm hoping it will decrease my mosquito population during our early summer....but I know not for long. All this cold air should increase my stitching productivity right? Well, you would think so but it just keeps the girls indoors for longer periods and they are more rambunctious when home. So I am posting my WIP, it is the SAL from The Thread Basket/ Jardin Prive. My fabric is a Christmas Green Joblean, 1st time to stitch on something so very dark. It has been a challenge! Enjoy the picture and you can check out more SAL pics at www.labrodeusebrode.blogspot.com.
BTW, still proud of our Horns! Hook 'em!

'Horn Mania 2010

Austin has BCS National Championship Fever!!! The Austin American Statesman is doing special daily coverage from Pasadena. There are t-shirts on every corner and as Longhorns....we don't mind being the underdogs! All in Austin are hoping that the #2 ranking and dissing from the media will only fire up our horns! So once again this is not stitching related but I'm leaving you with a pic I took with my Blackberry today at HEB, our grocery store. I thought it was fabulous.....maybe I should go back and buy one? Chips, Salsa, Queso, this Pinata and January 7th!

Happy New Year 2010

Another decade has come and gone. What will we call this one....the teens??? It just seems like yesterday I was buying my Like a Virgin Album, now one could say that was 3 decades ago.

I have not a photo to post yet for 2010 but I wanted to blog a bit about my resolutions. Every year it's the same, to lose some weight. Last year I succeeded so I may as well keep it up! I have been working at fitting into hopefully the last brides maid dress I will ever wear! The wedding is January 30th, the bride is my long time friend (yes back from the "like a virgin" days) Stephanie. She is doing it up big, her 1st and hopefully my last!

Second resolution is to have more patience and peace with my girls. The older they get the worse they fight! I'm an only child and have trouble with the constant bickering. My husband tells me it is all the norm. So hears to PATIENCE in 2010. And Peace in the Klein Household of Austin, Texas!
